Mr. Aleksandar Obradović was born on 28. 08. 1962. in Aleksinac, Republic of Serbia.
He began to practice karate in 1975. in the local club "Omladinac" in Aleksinac.
At that time, the club had very intensive cooperation with brothers Ilija and Vladimir Jorga, therefore, he passed all the examinations for all student titles in karate, in front of them.
In 1984. he got black belt I DAN, at the karate seminar in Poreč, where the head instructor was Taiji Kase.
In 1982. he went to Belgrade to study at the Faculty of Mathematics, while continuing to actively exercise karate at the karate club "Studentski Grad" which was one of the few most successful clubs of the former Yugoslavia.
Through national premier league, every year, club "Studentski grad", based on achieved results, won the right to perform at the club Team European championships and achieved remarkable results.
After graduation, Aleksandar Obradović continues to compete in the karate club "Sloga " from Kraljevo, which was enhanced at that time with several Yugoslav champions because of national league and the ambitions to participate in European contests. "Sloga" achieved its ambitions in the next three years.
At that time he was employed at Fabrika Maziva FAM, lubricant producer from Kruševac, as Research and Development Engineer, and he established his own club named "Šampion". He works at the club as Chief coach. During ten years of club existence, contestants from "Šampion" achieved excellent results in regional and national championships, and they won over 300 national medals in different age categories in both disciplines, katas and kumites.
On international scenes, "Šampion" contestants have also achieved remarkable results, out of which the most significant is silver and bronze medal at the Open World Championship in Budapest in 2002. in the categories of male and female juniors.
Aleksandar Obradović currently has the title master of karate 5. DAN and he works as the head coach in his club, with another two coaches. He is also the member of the Managing Board of the regional karate association and the member of the competition commission of the national karate association.
The main aim of his present activities is reafirmation of the core karate principles, particularly from the aspect of efficiency and attractiveness of karate as the martial art, in accordance with present day and given circumstances. |
